Dear Festividder....
Hi, vidding benefactor! Thank you for vidding for me this Festivids season, and I hope I can be helpful here! In general, I have pretty eclectic musical tastes, so I can't say I'd rule out anything there; I like character studies, and appreciate an unexpected POV; I'm a big fan of action choreography; I enjoy recurring themes that introduce new perspective on a scene or a lyric. I think that's all I've got for general preferences--as far as specific fandoms:
Unapologetic fantasy comedy action--my jam! One of the things I appreciated about this movie was all the individual relationships and story arcs, and some ideas that might be fun include: Edgin and Holga's friendship, or Edgin, Holga, and Kira as a family; Simon gaining in confidence as a magician; some humorously scummy Forge POV; the team scheming, and failing, and scheming again.
Such a cool movie, both visually and in general. One random idea I had might be to center the vid on the perspective of an alternate universe Evelyn or Waymond; a character vid about Joy/Jobu Tupaki would be awesome; something about the strategic value of kindness (or, for that matter, the unexpected); and something focusing on either the Evelyn/Waymond or Evelyn & Joy relationships would be lovely.
I loved how completely uninterested in being realistic this movie was, and how interesting all the relationships between girls and women were. Something focusing on Ria and Lena's relationship would be great, or on Lena's friendships with Alba, Clara, and eventually Kovacs; a villain POV from Raheela would be amazing. The more action, the better!
I’d really enjoy a worldbuilding vid for this one—the aesthetics are interestingly eclectic, and there’s a kind of unreal, fairy-tale aspect to it that really appeals to me. I’d love something focusing on Anna May, Madeleine, and Florence’s relationship, with each other, or with Sam, or with Scarlet. I also think something from Sam’s perspective, about her relationship with Emily or reuniting with her mother, would also be really neat.
My favorite character is Willow, so I’d love to see something about his journey! I also think something showing the parallels/differences between Bavmorda and Fin Raziel would be really cool—dueling sorceresses! I love fantasy, so anything stressing the quest-like and magical elements in the movie would totally be my jam.
I am definitely all about John and Margaret’s relationship, with all its ups and downs and angst and getting to see each other in new lights, so anything about them would be wonderful. It would also be fun to get a vid from the perspective of one of the minor characters, like Higgins or Mr. Thornton. I love the subplot about the striking workers and the labor issues, so if you wanted to a thematic vid just looking at that, that would be super cool as well.
