Dear Festividder....
Hi, vidding benefactor! Thanks so much for vidding for me this festivids season--I'm excited to see anything from any of these fandoms and am looking forward to seeing what you make! I have pretty eclectic music tastes, and I can't think of anything I'd rule out off the top of my head, so whatever strikes your fancy with a particular fandom, go for it!
Here are some favorite parts about specific fandoms:
So, this is one of those formative movies for me--I'm pretty sure my lifelong fascination with people with superpowers stems from watching this movie as a child. Tony and Tia are my favorite characters, and I'd love anything about their powers, or them not fitting in, or their quest to remember their past and make it home. Return from Witch Mountain is kind of goofy and doesn't hit quite the same buttons for me, but if you have bits from it you're dying to use, feel free--I do love the whole "Tony has amnesia but finally remembers Tia" subplot.
As much as I love the priests in this show, I think my emotional investment is really in the kids--I would love a vid either about Kat and Casey Rance and their complicated but loving relationship, or about the Kims' kids and their loyalty and sense of family.
This is a fandom where I would love a vid that just creeps me out the way the movie does. I feel like something from Paula's POV would be great--she undergoes such an emotional arc in the movie, so even if you're not feeling the creepy factor, something about her character's journey would be awesome.
Ooh, I'm of two minds about this fandom. On the one hand, I'd love something heartwarming about Robert and the people he comes to care about and protect; on the other hand, I'd love something super action-y, because the action scenes are really stylish and cool. Or maybe some combination thereof?
So, my favorite characters in this show were Sol and Trixie, and when they got together, I was pleased as punch. I'd love to see something about either of them or both of them. I also loved Jane/Joanie and both of their friendships with Charlie Utter, so I'd be jazzed about any combination of those three as well.
Man, what a beautiful movie! I really loved the vivid and alien visuals. Something about Meg's growth would be awesome, but I'd also love something from the perspective of Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Which--the movie really brought home to me just how both alien they are and how compassionate they are, and the way they interacted with each other and with Meg was one of my favorite parts of the movie.
